These are the words to a famous song written by Carvin Winans and Deborah Winans, and first sung by Carvin and his brothers Marvin, Michael, and Ronald in 1984. Carvin, Marvin, and their youngest brother, BeBe Winans sung this song again at Whitney Houston's homegoing service on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in Newark, New Jersey at the New Hope Baptist Church. 

The words to this song are a powerful reminder to all of us that tomorrow is not promised us. James 4:13-14 states, "Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." I am sure that Whitney Houston looked forward to attending her music mentor, Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party in the days before her death. She even told him that she was working on getting her voice back and that she would be "ready by August". By many accounts she was looking forward to the future and to doing what she loved to do and spending time with her precious daughter, Bobbi Kristina. And for those of you who think that Whitney Houston had a death wish or a suicidal mentality, I assure you that the last thing on earth she wanted to do was die with her daughter just turning 18 years old. But "tomorrow" never came for Whitney Houston. Tomorrow is not promised to come for you or for me. Since today is all we have, this moment is all we have, the question is if you were to die today, are you ready to meet your Creator? Apparently, Whitney Houston was ready to meet Jesus Christ. Somewhere in her young life, she decided to believe in Jesus Christ. She loved Him and she knew that He loved her. She did not put off believing in Jesus until "tomorrow". 2 Corinthians 6:2 states, "now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."

Dear friend, many people who were alive yesterday are dead this morning. Many people who thought they would be here today are not here. So, "Don't let this moment slip away." Don't put off accepting Christ until tomorrow or until some other time. "Your tomorrow could very well be today." If you want to be ready to meet your Creator as Whitney Houston was, allow me to show you how:

John 3:16 reads, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  

"For God so loved the world" means that if you are in the world, God loves you. No matter who you are, where you are, or what you have done, God loves you. 

God loves you more than you love yourself. He loves you so much so "that He gave His only begotten Son." His only begotten son is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and for mine, He was buried, and on the third day, He rose from the dead.

"that whosoever believeth in Him", whosoever means anybody of any race, any color, any belief system, or any socio-economic status can believe on Jesus Christ.

"should not perish, but have everlasting life." if you believe on Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you will not perish in hell, instead you will have everlasting life in heaven with God. 

The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.... For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." 

Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.  

Congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!

Believe it or not, Whitney Houston was a witness for the Lord throughout her life even though she had gotten away from the Lord in her personal life from time to time. But like Samson she brought more glory to God in her death than in her life. She brought more people to the House of God to hear the Word of God, from all over the world, than some people will bring in a lifetime. Someone asked the Governor of New Jersey, 'why are you flying the flags half-staff for Whitney Houston? She had some drug abuse issues in her life.' The governor replied, "but for the grace of God go I."

Some people may doubt if Whitney Houston went to Heaven when she died based upon some things she did in her latter years. If that were the basis for going to Heaven, then we could also doubt if some of the servants of the Lord whom God used in the Bible went to Heaven as well. Moses was a murderer, yet God allowed him to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land and God gave Him the Ten Commandments which, by the way, included the command, "Thou shalt not kill." David was an adulterer, murderer, and liar, but yet he was the king of Israel and remained so after he sinned, and despite his sins, God still called him a man after His own heart. Samson was a womanizer who used his God-given gifts and talents for his own purposes, yet God used him at the end of his life and even through his death to bring victory for the Israelites over their enemies for the glory of God.  Peter committed the ultimate sin of denying he knew Christ, not once, not twice, but three times, yet he was the first one to enter the empty tomb of Jesus Christ after His resurrection, he was used by God to bring the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the whole known world in the book of Acts, he wrote two books in the New Testament, and was used by God to be a key leader in the early church. Just based upon their behaviour and actions, none of these servants of the Lord should be in Heaven. But I can assure you that they are, not based upon their behaviour but based upon their belief in Jesus Christ - the Messiah. Whitney Houston, by the accounts of several of her friends and by her own words, believed in Jesus Christ and loved Him all the way to the end of her life. 

After a week of gathering information on her spiritual life, I am convinced that I will see Whitney in Heaven, along with Moses, David, Samson, and Peter. The question today is will I see you in Heaven? Dr. John MacArthur, who is a biblical scholar, said, "Heaven is a place more wonderful than we can ever begin to imagine. It is a place of joy and beauty, of peace and happiness that will never end." (end of quote) Just last night, after looking at a broadcast regarding Whitney Houston, they showed the movie "The Bodyguard", which Whitney Houston starred in with Kevin Costner. For the first time I watched that movie, and to my surprise, it was a good movie, and I told my family that Heaven will be like a great movie that never ends. Dr. John MacArthur continues by saying, "Heaven is also a place where there will be no sin or suffering, no sorrow or pain. Heaven is the place where we will have perfect joy, perfect peace, perfect knowledge, and live in perfect comfort. We will love God perfectly and will be loved perfectly by Him. His love will engulf us forever." Will I see you in this beautiful place called Heaven? If you were to die today and you're not sure that you would go to this place called Heaven where not only Moses, David, Samson, and Peter are, but where I believe Whitney Houston is, allow me to show you how you can be sure right now:

1. Accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God's law. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:20: "For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good, and sinneth not." Romans 3:23 reads: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." In fact, I am the chief of sinners, so don't think that you're alone.  

2. Accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death..."  

3. Accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." The Bible says in Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."  

4. Accept the fact that you cannot do anything to save yourself! The Bible states in Ephesians 2: 8, 9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast."  

5. Accept the fact that God loves you more than you love yourself, and that He wants to save you from hell. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  

6. With these facts in mind, please repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and pray and ask Him to come into your heart and save you this very moment. The Bible states in the book of Romans 10:9, 13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."  

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  

If you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me the following simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again.       But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
      Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
      And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
      Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
      Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
      And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
      Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
      Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.  
       
As you may recall, we are in a series titled "How to Avoid Being Destroyed by the Devil". Last week, we covered the second message in this series titled "How to Fight Back Against the Devil". In that message, we covered three important points, which are as follows:  

I. God Commands Us to Resist the Devil
II. The Tools We Have for Fighting Back
III. We Are Already Guaranteed Victory in the Fight With the Devil  

Our message for today is titled, "How to Resist the Devil and Make him Flee".
 

There is a great example of resisting the devil recorded in Matthew 4. Here we have the temptation of Jesus and a beautiful picture of His resisting the Devil. A careful study of this passage will show exactly how its done.

I. SATAN WILL ATTACK AT YOUR WEAKEST POINT

The Devil doesn't fight fair. He attacks at your weakest point. One great preacher said, "When temptation and opportunity meet, we are in trouble."

Jesus had "fasted forty days and forty nights, and he was afterward an hungred". Then came the devil saying "If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread."  

If you ever had a bout with liquor before you were saved, he will tempt you with drink. He attacks where you are the most vulnerable. When Jesus was hungry, Satan said "Command that these stones be made bread."

If you get discouraged in the ministry and want to leave your church, don't be surprised to get an offer for a very good job. If you and your wife can't get along and you are fighting and fussing and your relationship is poor, don't be surprised to have a beautiful woman about fifteen years younger show up and tell you, ugly as a scratch, that you are the most handsome thing that ever lived! If you are six months behind on your bills and you are worrying yourself to death, don't be surprised to have someone offer you a get-rich-quick scheme!

Satan did not attack when our Lord had just finished a good meal and say, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread"; rather, it was after our Lord had fasted forty days and nights and was very hungry.

II. JESUS RESISTED THE DEVIL WITH THE WORD OF GOD

But, how did Jesus respond to the devil? Jesus responded, "It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Jesus used the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God to counter the temptation.

The temptation amounts to, "The Devil said..."; and the answer to the tempter and the way to resist the Devil is to tell him what God said, "It is written..." Jesus used a verse from the Old Testament appropriate for the temptation.

To resist the Devil simply means to fight back with the only offensive weapon we have -- the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.

But the Devil did not give up easily. Look at verses 5 and 6:  

      Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Since the Lord had quoted Scripture, the Devil decided to try to get Jesus to yield to temptation by quoting Scripture back to Him. The only problem is, the Devil did not quote it exactly correctly. He was trying to get our Lord to live by chance and not by faith.

There is nothing wrong with trusting God, but there is something wrong with trying to demonstrate your faith by doing foolish things and tempting God.

In resisting the Devil, Jesus did the same thing He had done in the first temptation. In verse 7, He said to the Devil: "It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." Jesus continued using the Sword of the Spirit, quoting Scripture appropriate to combat the temptation. But the Devil still did not give up.

Verses 8 and 9 say:  

      Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Again, Jesus responded in verse 10 by quoting the Scripture: "it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." The Devil said nothing about service, but the Lord knew that worship included service. What we worship, we serve. If we worship self, we will serve self. Nearly everything we do will be selfish. If we worship the world, we will serve the world.  

I have known men to worship money and end up serving money. Everything they did was for money. Money governed their lives and their conduct. It even determined their friendships. What we worship, we serve.

And what we serve, we sacrifice for. Tell me what you are willing to make sacrifices for, and I will tell you what you serve and worship. We cannot go to Sunday school and church on Sunday morning because it is too cold, but we will get up eagerly to go and sit in the stands at a stadium for a football game outside in the cold. Now, I am not against going to football games. I am simply making a point. The same could be said for golfing, fishing, or any other thing we are willing to sacrifice for.

In this third temptation, the Lord said in verse 10, "Get thee hence, Satan," then, "For it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." The next verse continues: "Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him."

Now what does the Bible promise in James 4:7? "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." That is exactly what happened in Matthew 4 when Jesus resisted the Devil by quoting an appropriate verse to combat the temptation. The Bible says, "Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him." Luke 4:13 says, "He departed from him for a season."

James 4:7 is just as true as John 3:16. If we resist the Devil, he will flee from us. That is the promise of the Word of God and God cannot lie.

Now do you see why we have trouble? When the Devil comes to tempt us, we call on God and ask Him to help us. But God never says, 'Pray, and I will make the Devil flee.' He says, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We must do what the Bible says if we expect to get Bible results.  

How can we put into practice what Jesus did? Let me give an illustration.

Suppose someone is having doubts about salvation. The Devil continues to put the thought in his mind that he is not saved. This person could pray all he wished to, but that would not solve his problem. If he has trusted Christ as his Saviour, then the thing to do is resist the Devil. The moment the doubt comes, the person should realize the doubt is from Satan and tell the Devil, "I know where that thought came from. You are trying to get me to doubt my salvation, but the Bible says in John 3:36, 'He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.' I know I am believing on the Son, and I know God meant what he said. Therefore, I know I have everlasting life."

John 3:36 is a good passage to quote to the Devil when he comes with his doubts. We could even say, "Get thee hence, Satan, for it is written 'He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.' I know I am saved because God said so. Devil, take your doubts and leave with them!"

Now, if you are listening today and you do not know Jesus Christ as your savior, then you are still under the Devil's power -- you are still on your way to hell. If you want to be delivered from the Devil, from sin, and from hell, allow me to share with you from God's Word how you can accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to give to you.

The Bible tells me so.

As far as we know, "Yes, Jesus Loves Me" is the last song that the queen of pop, Whitney Houston, who many are calling "the Voice", sung. We all want to experience love in our lives. We want to know that someone loves us just for who we are. Well, God is really the only Somebody who loves us just for who we are, unconditionally and fully, without fail. He offers the kind of love that makes life worth living. Yes, indeed, Jesus does love you and Yes, indeed, Jesus does love me, and Yes, indeed, Jesus does love Whitney. His love is a love that you don't have to earn. It is an unconditional love that is stronger than any human love. We do not know if Whitney Houston was a Christian or not. We hope that when she was a little girl singing at New Hope Baptist Church that she accepted Christ into her heart. We do know however that if she received Jesus Christ into her heart and believed that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again, her soul is now at rest in Heaven with the Lord. Do you want to experience this unconditional love of God in your life and go to Heaven when you die? Well, let me show you how:

1. Accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God's law. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:20: "For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good, and sinneth not." Romans 3:23 reads: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." In fact, I am the chief of sinners, so don't think that you're alone.  

2. Accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death..."  

3. Accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." The Bible says in Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."  

4. Accept the fact that you cannot do anything to save yourself! The Bible states in Ephesians 2: 8, 9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast."  

5. Accept the fact that God loves you more than you love yourself, and that He wants to save you from hell. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  

6. With these facts in mind, please repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and pray and ask Him to come into your heart and save you this very moment. The Bible states in the book of Romans 10:9, 13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."  

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  

If you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me the following simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.   

Congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!

Whitney Houston, the once reigning queen of pop, with a soulful voice and chart-topping hits died suddenly and unexpectedly on February 11 at age 48, just one day before the 54th GRAMMY Awards. Born into Gospel royalty, she began singing at her church in New Jersey as a young girl and was inspired by her mother Cissy Houston, her cousin Dionne Warwick, and her godmother Aretha Franklin. For over a decade and a half she mesmerized the world with her beautiful voice, selling over 200 million albums including seven back-to-back multi-platinum albums. Her No. 1 hits included: "Saving All My Love for You," "How Will I Know" and "The Greatest Love of All." She won over 415 awards throughout her career including two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, and 22 American Music Awards. After a tumultous marriage to Bobby Brown, she was immersed in drugs and her drug use took a toll on her voice. In recent years, she struggled to make a musical comeback. She produced a new album and starred in a soon to be released movie titled "Sparkle".

Although millions will mourn her sudden and untimely passing the Bible reminds us that all of us will one day die. You could say that death is a fact of life.

Psalm 39:5 says, "Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity."

Most of us expect to live long, rewarding lives before death's ultimate arrival. We want to marry, raise children, and retire well. Certainly no one expects to die "before our time".

So we spend ourselves on living and give little thought to dying. "I'll prepare later," we say. But death often comes with no opportunity for final preparation.

So, these words are a gift to you --- a gift to help you spend time preparing for death. This is not being morbid. Truth is, if you prepare well to die, you'll live at your peak now, and when you die you will enter an eternity of complete joy. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says, "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;"

Whitney Houston's death reminds us that we all have an appointment with death. Hebrews 9:27 reads, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" You might guess that your death is a long way off, when actually it might be as soon as...today.

Wise people prepare to die when the likelihood of death seems very far away. Wise people are ready for death whenever it comes.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN PREPARE FOR DEATH

Some people think that eternal life, if it can be found, begins after death. The truth is, God offers us eternal life during our earthly life. It is God's plan that when death comes, we do not have to fear some quantum change. Death, in fact, for those who are prepared, serves as an embarkation into the fullness of the life we have already begun to live with God.

Jesus puts it in these terms in John 5:24, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."

"From death to life"...it is a crossing over, spiritually, during this life, not at the end.

PUT YOUR FAITH AND TRUST IN JESUS

Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sin and direct your life. It is by His death and resurrection that you are saved. When life with Jesus has been entered into, death (when it occurs) will simply facilitate your crossing over fully into eternal life with God.

So hear Jesus speaking to you, even as you reflect on these words. Tell Him that you believe He is the Son of God and Savior of the world...and you want to cross over into life. Ask Him to put His eternal life within you. He will. Acts 2:21 says, "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

The Bible states in the book of Romans 10:9, 13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."  

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  

If you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me the following simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

Devin Thomas, a wide receiver for the New York Giants who was a decisive player in the NFC Championship Game that sent the Giants to the Super Bowl says, "Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I put Him first. He's given me this opportunity to showcase on a large scale about the work He has done in my life." 

Danny Woodhead, running back for the New England Patriots and two time Harlon Hill Trophy Winner, says "Without my relationship with Christ nothing else really matters. This is obviously the greatest situation to be in in football and in my athletic career but my faith comes first."  

Prince A-mu-ka-ma-ra, cornerback for the New York Giants, says "My faith has helped me because I know it's an audience of one and that I'm just performing for Jesus."  

Matthew Slater, wide receiver and special teams captain for the New England Patriots, says, "I'm a true believer that God is in control. You know, Romans 8:28 says that God is going to work everything together for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. So, you have to at the end of the day just trust the plan. Hakeem Nix, wide receiver for the New York Giants and one time NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month, says "I'm all in. I'm all in with Christ ... He put me here to exalt Him and humble myself." 

Deion Branch, wide receiver for the New England Patriots, two time Super Bowl Champion, and one-time Super Bowl MVP, says "Life is bigger than football. You can't do this forever. What I'm going to be is a God-fearing Christian." 

This is the "Chief of Sinners," Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International. These six football players realize that there is more to life than football -- they realize that the most important thing in life is knowing Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and following God's plan for their lives. Just like they gave their lives to Christ, may I encourage you to do the same. Here is how:   

1. Accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God's law. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:20: "For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good, and sinneth not." Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." The Bible says in Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."   

4. Accept the fact that you cannot do anything to save yourself! The Bible states in Ephesians 2: 8, 9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Rosa ParksProverbs 31:30 states, "Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall 
be praised".

Rosa Parks was the first woman to lie in state in the Capitol rotunda of the United States of America. Mrs. Parks is the first black woman to be chosen to have a statue in Statutory Hall in Washington, D.C. And she is one of the very few women who has had not just one, not just two, but three funeral services. Why was this humble and quiet lady so praised at the end of her life?

How did it all begin? Rosa Parks, who was known by all to be a Christian lady and a woman who had a "meek and quiet spirit", on a very memorable day in December of 1955, in the segregated city of Montgomery, Alabama, refused to give up her seat to a white man, when asked to get up. Many have said, "she sat down so that we all could stand up." She was not boisterous, she did not fuss and fight, but won that battle through the "content of her character" and through a Godly and quiet spirit.

After this incident, she lost her job and was persecuted. However, she never said a mumbling word. She never pitched a fit. She never sought the spotlight. And she never tried to profit from her fame. How could Rosa Parks do this? She did it because she knew the Lord, feared the Lord, and served the Lord. And this is why she will forever be "A Woman Praised."

Rosa Parks made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Do you want to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour as well? Here's how:

She is also in the Guinness Book of World Records for creating and leading the world's largest line dance, with over 50,000 participants at Bishop T.D. Jakes' Megafest conference in Atlanta, Georgia. On top of all of that, she is a wife and a mother. She is the wife of the hardest working man in radio, the "Flyjock", Tom Joyner, and together they have raised two great sons. Her purpose and passion in life is to educate, empower, and energize women, children and families about living a healthy lifestyle. 

Growing up in the church, she came to a new level in her relationship with Jesus Christ when troubles in a relationship caused her to do some soul searching. She often encourages her audiences to honor God by taking care of their bodies. She says of her work, "For the past 20 years, I have traveled to over 30 countries helping people get healthier. My greatest challenge was here - my family, my church, my community, and our country. Most people have tried everything, but there was one missing ingredient: God. This is the "Chief of Sinners," Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, and just as Donna Richardson-Joyner gave her life to Christ, may I encourage you to do the same. Here is how:  

1. Accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God's law. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:20: "For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good, and sinneth not." Romans 3:23 reads: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." In fact, I am the chief of sinners, so don't think that you're alone.  

2. Accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death..."  

3. Accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." The Bible says in Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."  

4. Accept the fact that you cannot do anything to save yourself! The Bible states in Ephesians 2: 8, 9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast." Donna Richardson Joyner is obviously a very hard working woman. Not only that, she is married to the hardest working man in radio. But she does not claim that she is working her way to Heaven. She has received salvation as a free gift from God through Jesus Christ, and so must you.   

5. Accept the fact that God loves you more than you love yourself, and that He wants to save you from hell. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  

6. With these facts in mind, please repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and pray and ask Him to come into your heart and save you this very moment. The Bible states in the book of Romans 10:9, 13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."  

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  

If you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me the following simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

God loves you and not only wants you to have a fulfilling life on earth, He also wants you to live with Him in Heaven forever. He's the one who offers you a paid-in-full ticket. No one wants to go to hell where there will be no joy and no pleasures whatsoever, and God doesn't want anyone to go there either. The Bible says in 2 Peter 3:9 that God is "not willing that any should perish".

But there is a problem with getting that free ticket. We have all done wrong--we have all sinned, haven't we? God's Word says in 1 John 1:8, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves". Sin pollutes--it makes us unclean, unfit for God's presence in that wonderful, perfect place called Heaven. Sin penalizes--it separates us from a sinless God. Romans 6:23 says, "for the wages of sin is death".

In short, our sinfulness blocks the delivery of the ticket that we need to get into Heaven!

Who paid for it?

Wait! There's good news! Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth to be born and to live His life without sin. 1 Peter 3:18 says, Jesus "once suffered for [our] sins, the just [One] for the unjust [all of us!], that He might bring us to God". When God "laid on Him the iniquity [sins] of us all", Jesus cried out, "My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?". The answer is simple and profound: Jesus was separated from God because He took your place and mine on the cross, and by dying He paid in full the "wages" our sins had earned.

Then He rose from the dead, was seen by hundreds of people, and is alive today so you can know Him and receive the gift of eternal life--your ticket to Heaven. That's right! The Bible says this about all who believe in His name in John 1:12: "as many as received Him [Jesus], to them gave He power to become the sons of God".

That is fantastic! You can become a "new" person--born of God--to start a brand new life that pleases God. And, of course, all God's children have a ticket to Heaven!

Do you want it?

It is no accident you are hearing this message today. God has made sure you can receive it. The whole issue is, did Jesus pay for all your sins or didn't He? God said He did. Trust God that it is so. John 3:36 says, "He that believeth on the Son [of God] hath everlasting life".

Just as a man says, "Yes, I will take this woman to be my wife," God wants you to tell Him, "Yes, I will take Jesus to be my Savior. I believe that He is the only way to Heaven." The Bible says in 1 John 5:12, "He that hath the Son [Jesus] hath life".

If you believe that God's way to Heaven is the only way and that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose again, you can "claim your ticket" by telling God in words like these:

Dear God, I have sinned. I know I have offended You in many ways. I am so sorry. I believe that Jesus suffered and died for my sins, paid my debt in full, and rose again. Jesus, I believe in You and thank You for what You've done for me. Please save me from the penalty of my sins, and give me a new birth and the power to live for You. Thank You for this offer to spend eternity in Heaven with You!

Remember what John 3:36 says: "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life."

Congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour!

Last week, we finished part 3 of our series titled "Things That Must Be Believed." In this series, we are discussing the essentials of the Christian faith -- these are things that you cannot deny and still have Christianity. Just as a reminder, allow me to refresh your memory of the six essentials that we have already covered:  

1. The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ -- that Jesus Christ was not conceived by the natural union of a human man and woman, but supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin Mary. The Bible says in Isaiah 7:14, "Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel."

2. The Deity of Jesus Christ -- that Jesus Christ is God. According to Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1:23 Jesus Christ is "God with us". While He was on this earth, Christ showed that He was God by demonstrating his eternality, his equality with the Father, his omniscience, his omnipresence, and his omnipotence.

3. The Substitutionary Death of Jesus Christ -- that Jesus Christ died on the cross in the place of sinners who were guilty and condemned by God. The Bible says in II Corinthians 5:21, "For he hath made him -- Jesus Christ -- to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." If Jesus Christ did not die on a cross in the sinner's place to pay the sinner's debt, then we don't have a way to be saved.  

4. The Physical Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Dead -- that Jesus literally, physically got up from the grave three days after He had been killed. The Bible says in Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." That which separates Christianity from all other religions is the resurrection. Every religion has a founder who lived and died and is still in the tomb. But Christianity has a Founder who lived and died and was buried, and after three days and nights arose from the dead.

5. The Verbal Inspiration of the Bible -- that the Bible is God's Word through and through. Second Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." My friend, if you destroy the Bible, you destroy all other doctrines.

6. The Fact that Salvation For Lost Mankind Is Only by God's Grace Through Faith In Our Lord Jesus Christ Who Died On the Cross, Was Buried, and Rose Again For Our Sins. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." The Word of God clearly teaches that lost sinners are saved by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and His death, burial, and resurrection.

Today, we are going to discuss the seventh and final essential in this series, which is: THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST.  

THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST

If Jesus Christ does not come again, then many, many verses in the Bible would be untrue. In John 14:3, Jesus said, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." In Philippians 3:20, Paul said, "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ." Jesus is coming again.

There are 20 times as many references to the second coming of Christ in the Old Testament as there are to His first coming. Then in Paul's epistles, he speaks of baptism only 13 times but of the second coming at least 50 times.  

Among the last words Jesus uttered before He left this world were the following in John 14:1-3: "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

At His ascension in Acts 1:10, the Bible states, "And while they (the disciples) looked stedfastly toward heaven as Jesus went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

It is believed that these men in white apparel were angels, and that they said, "This same Jesus...shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." How did Jesus leave? Visibly. He will return visibly. He left in a body; He will return in a body. He left from the Mount of Olives; and as the Bible predicts in Acts 1:12 and Zechariah 14:4, He will return to the Mount of Olives.

Philippians 3:20 says, "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ." And Hebrews 9:28 says, "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."

The Bible is filled with promises of Jesus' second coming. In Revelation 22 -- once in verse 7, once in verse 12, and again in verse 20 -- Jesus says, "Behold I come quickly," "Behold, I come quickly," Surely I come quickly..." And the Bible closes with the Apostle John saying in Revelation 22:21, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."

Friends, one verse in every thirty in the New Testament refers to the second coming.

An old-fashioned preacher brought a wonderful sermon on the second coming; and, at the close of the service, one of these little, young, modernistic, potato-string backbone, rose-water squirting preachers, who start nowhere and end up in the same place, said to the old preacher, "I want you to know that I can't get that out of the New Testament."

The old-fashioned preacher smiled and said, "You sure can't, Buddy. It's in there to stay!"

There are 259 chapters in the New Testament, and over 300 references to the second coming of Jesus Christ. Yes, the promise of the second coming of Christ is in the Bible to stay.

The second coming of Jesus Christ is an essential truth that must be believed.

Before we close, let's review one more time the essential truths of Christianity that we have looked at in this series. Ask yoiurself if you really believe what the Bible says about these matters. They are as follows:  

  • The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ
  • The Deity of Jesus Christ
  • The Substitutionary Death of Jesus Christ
  • The Physical Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Dead
  • The Verbal Inspiration of the Bible
  • The Fact that Salvation For Lost Mankind Is Only by God's Grace Through Faith In Our Lord Jesus Christ Who Died On the Cross, Was Buried, and Rose Again For Our Sins
  • The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Now, if Jesus Christ were to return today, are you ready to meet Him? If you do not know for sure that you will go to heaven when you die, allow me to share with you from God's Word how you can accept the free gift that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to give to you.

Did you know that God has already sent a special invitation to you? He doesn't require that you dress up to approach Him or turn over a new leaf to impress Him. You can come just as you are. Yet this is the most important invitation you will ever receive.

The Lord had His invitation placed in Isaiah 55:6: "Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near". Jesus Himself invites you in Matthew 11:28, "Come unto me, ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest".

Are you afraid to come to Him, fearful that you won't measure up? The truth is, He already knows each of us inside and out--our strengths and potential, our fears and weaknesses. He also knows all the things that we would like to hide from Him...and from the rest of the world! Yet God, who is totally pure and holy and who hates our sins, still loves us. He wants us to turn in belief to Him "from darkness to light... that [we] may receive forgiveness of sins". Jesus said in John 8:12, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life".

To make forgiveness possible while still meeting the demands of justice, God's perfect Son, Jesus Christ, died in our place. We no longer have to suffer the punishment we deserve for our sins. Instead, Jesus promises in John 5:24 that "He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath eternal life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life", from sin's darkness to God's eternal light!

God invites you to enjoy new life in His family, beginning the moment you trust Him as your Savior: John 1:12 says, "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name". Will you receive Him into your life now--or will you risk missing all He offers you for eternity?

God is inviting you. How will you respond?

Aside from boxing, he has participated in acting, music recording, and politics. In May 2010, he was elected to the Philippine House of Representatives in the 15th Congress of the Philippines. Many believe that one day he will be president of the Philippines.

He says of the recent change in his life, "If I had died last year or in the last two years, I am sure I would've gone straight to Hell...My faith in God was there 100 percent but behind it, after prayers, I would still do evil things." The change came about because of a dream that led him to give up gambling, alchohol and womanizing. He said, "I was in a beautiful forest when a bright light was shone upon me. A voice asked me, 'Son why are you going away from me?' I woke up crying. I remember I was crying in my dream and when I touched my pillow, it was wet." After waking up, he looked through the Bible and found that God sometimes speaks to people in dreams. He said, "I told myself this dream is real and I have to change my life. The change came not just because I desired it, but because God changed me." He goes on further to say, "Being a Christian means accepting Christ as your Savior, your God. That's why you are called a 'Christian.' If you remove Christ, there's only 'IAN' and that means 'I am nothing." His name is Manny Pacquiao (PAK-ee-ow).

This is the "Chief of Sinners," Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, and just as Manny Pacquiao gave his life to Christ, may I encourage you to do the same. Here is how:  

1. Accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God's law. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:20: "For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good, and sinneth not." Romans 3:23 reads: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." In fact, I am the chief of sinners, so don't think that you're alone.  

2. Accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death..."  

3. Accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." The Bible says in Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."  

4. Accept the fact that you cannot do anything to save yourself! The Bible states in Ephesians 2: 8, 9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast."  

5. Accept the fact that God loves you more than you love yourself, and that He wants to save you from hell. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  

6. With these facts in mind, please repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and pray and ask Him to come into your heart and save you this very moment. The Bible states in the book of Romans 10:9, 13: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."  

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  

If you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me the following simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

Last week, we did part 2 of our series titled "Things That Must Be Believed." In this series, we are discussing the essentials of the Christian faith -- these are things that you cannot deny and still have Christianity. So far, we have looked at four essentials which are: The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, The Deity of Jesus Christ, The Substitutionary Death of Jesus Christ and The Physical Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Dead.

Today, we are going to discuss the next two essentials in this series, which are: THE VERBAL INSPIRATION OF THE BIBLE and the fact that SALVATION FOR LOST MANKIND IS ONLY BY GOD'S GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST WHO DIED ON THE CROSS, WAS BURIED, AND ROSE AGAIN FOR OUR SINS.

1. THE VERBAL INSPIRATION OF THE BIBLE

Second Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. "

Matthew 4:4 says, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

If the Bible is not the Word of God, then the foundations are destroyed. It was from the Bible that I learned that Jesus Christ was virgin-born. It was from the Bible that I learned that Jesus Christ died on a cross for sinners. It was from the Bible that I learned that Jesus Christ was literally and physically raised from the dead. It was from the Bible that I learned that Jesus Christ is coming again.

Destroy the Bible, and you destroy all other doctrines. The Bible is the Word of God. It is an essential. Second Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

Allow me to share with you what the Gideon's said about the  Bible

      "The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.
       
      "It is the traveler's map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, the soldier's sword, and the Christian's charter. Here Paradise is restored, Heaven opened, and the gates of hell disclosed.
       
      "Christ is the grand subject, our good the design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgement, and be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, will reward the greatest labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents."

The modernists say, "The Bible contains the Word of God." But the true believers say "The Bible IS the Word of God."

One day, after hearing a sermon which talked about the Bible being the Word of God, a man came up to the preacher and said, "Well, all the Bible is not the Word of God."

The preacher asked, "What part is not God's Word?"

The man turned to Genesis and read where the serpent said to Eve, "Ye shall not surely die." "Now," he said, "that's not God's Word. That's the devil's word."

The preacher replied, "That is God's Word. That's God saying that the devil said to Eve, 'Ye shall not surely die.' It is God telling on the devil. We wouldn't know the devil said it if God hadn't told us. You listen, the Bible is the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation; and I believe every word of it."

Let me share with you this little poem about the Word of God:

      The Holy Bible must have been 
       Inspired of God and not of men.
      I could not if I would, believe 
       That good men wrote it to deceive,

      And bad men would not if they could,  
       Proceed to write a Book so good.
      And certainly no crazy man 
       Could ever conceive its wondrous plan,

      And pray, what other kinds of men  
       Than do these three groups comprehend?
      Hence it must be that God inspired  
       The Word which souls of prophets fired.  

2. SALVATION FOR LOST MANKIND IS ONLY BY GOD'S GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST WHO DIED ON THE CROSS, WAS BURIED, AND ROSE AGAIN FOR OUR SINS

The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:36 - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 11:25-26 - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

1 John 5:1 - Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

Acts 16:31 - Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The Word of God clearly teaches that lost sinners are saved by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and His death, burial, and resurrection.

According to John MacArthur, "In chapters 3 and 4 of Romans, Paul establishes unequivocally that salvation comes only on the basis of God's grace working through man's faith. Man's only part in becoming saved is to receive forgiveness and reconciliation freely in faith from God's gracious hand. The person who trusts in anything else, including obedience to God's own law, cannot be saved."

"Paul established the fact that faith has always been the only way to salvation. Abraham, the physical progenitor of all Jews and their supreme example of a man who was right with God, did not accomplish that relationship through his good works but only through his faith. Quoting Genesis 15:6, Paul declares that 'Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.'"

For many years, the Catholic Church taught that salvation and entrance into Heaven could be gained by good works. The Church sold "indulgences" which would allow people to "absolve" or pay off their sins. However, a young German man by the name of Martin Luther began studying the Word of God for himself in the early 1500s. In the course of his studies, he came across the following verses in Romans 1:16 and 17: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith."  

The Catholic Church had been teaching that people are made just by works, but the Bible clearly states that people are made just in God's eyes by faith. Luther later publicized his discovery which shook the religious structure of his day, and brought about the Protestant reformation. Thank God for Martin Luther who took the time to study God's Word for himself, and helped deliver many people from going down the wrong path and ending up in a devil's Hell.

Remember, Romans 5:1 says, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Salvation by faith in Jesus Christ is an essential truth that must be believed.  

In conclusion to this message so far we have covered six essentials to the Christian faith. We understand that 1. The virgin birth of Jesus Christ, 2. the deity of Jesus Christ, 3. His vicarious suffering, 4. His victorious resurrection, 5. salvation by faith through Jesus Christ, and 6. the verbal inspiration of the Bible are essentials that must be believed.

There are some things I would die for, some things I would fight for that I would not die for, and some things I would fuss about that I wouldn't fight for. But when it comes to the spiritual realm, I would die for the essentials of the Faith.

Now, today if you have not yet accepted God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ as the only way for you to be saved from sin, death, and hell, allow me to share with you from God's Word how you can accept the free gift that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to give to you.
